5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1:

    Local departure by coach, then on to Portpatrick and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie on arrival to get us into the Christmas spirit.

  • Day 2: Christmas Eve in Ayrshire Coast and Ayr

    Today we travel along the Ayrshire Coast to reach Ayr in the heart of Robert Burns country. As the National Poet, he is widely regarded and celebrated throughout Scotland and nowhere is that more apparent than in Ayr, his birthplace. Ayr also has excellent beaches for when the elusive Scottish sunshine appears, and has an excellent town centre for those less sunny days. Enjoy time at leisure to stroll down the esplanade or browse the shops.

  • Day 3: Christmas Day at leisure

    Merry Christmas! Relax in Portpatrick, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, and enjoy the festive atmosphere in the hotel with your fellow travellers.

  • Day 4: Boxing Day Newton Stewart

    This morning we visit Newton Stewart. The town was named after its founder, William Stewart, son of the Earl of Galloway. It thrived on its cotton and carpet industries and is now more famous for its salmon and trout fishing on the River Cree. There is an interesting museum as well as an array of shops, cafes and restaurants. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.

  • Day 5:

    We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.
